Overview of DSR in the Ancillary Services Markets

Within PJM, there are multiple opportunities for interruptible system load (DSR) to participate in wholesale electric markets. In addition to energy and capacity, a DSR participant may be compensated for providing ancillary services to the power grid. This is an overview of how the Ancillary Services DSR resources can provide on a daily (or hourly) basis support to the bulk power transmission grid. Topics touched on are shown below.
