Pandemic Coordination

This page provides public documents and meeting information for stakeholders during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. It includes public information for state officials and regulators, as well as the Operations Pandemic Coordination Team (OPCT), and hosts materials discussed on the weekly coronavirus update calls.

Current Status

  • In the interest of the well-being of our employees and the safe and reliable operation of the bulk electric system, PJM has decided to push back its return-to-campus plan to May 31, 2021.
  • In-person stakeholder meetings will not resume before July 2021 and will continue to be held virtually.
  • The PJM Annual Meeting of Members will be held virtually in May 2021.
  • The Member Training Program will continue with virtual delivery into 2021.

State Pandemic Updates

PJM briefs states periodically on the latest pandemic information during closed teleconferences. Public materials associated with these updates will be posted below.

Coronavirus Weekly Call

The public Coronavirus Weekly Calls are temporarily on hold as states reopen. Updates will be provided at Operating Committee meetings as needed.

Load Impacts

  • Since March 24, PJM has seen weekday peaks coming in about 10 percent – or about 9,000 MW – less than would be expected, with changes in weather accounted for.
  • Total daily energy use is down to a lesser extent, about 7.9 percent on average since March 24.
  • Weekdays continue to be impacted more than weekends for both peaks and energy.
