Transmission Initial Training Program (ITP)
The Transmission Initial Training Program (ITP) provides comprehensive training for a Transmission Operator. This program is designed to provide participants training on topics critical to transmission operations and procedures within PJM. The ITP incorporates a combination of teaching methods including lecture, power simulations and many exercises to enhance participant learning. This Program may be completed In-Person with self-study or Online using the PJM Learning Management System (LMS).
Initial Training Requirement:
Transmission Owner (TO) Operators must successfully complete the PJM sponsored ITP prior to independently participating in real time operations.

CEH/CEU Eligibility:
CEH/CEU eligible on completion of all course sessions.
Continuing Training Requirement:
Upon completion of the Initial Training Program, all TO Operators have ongoing Continuing Training requirements. All TO Operators must complete at least 32 hours, per calendar year, of Emergency Preparedness Training. For more information on the Transmission Owner Operator training requirements, please see PJM Manual 40.
Please note that all online training requirements must be completed via the PJM Learning Management System (LMS). Required training is designated as Priority 1 in the LMS and may be filtered to clearly differentiate from optional training.
