Stability

Students will cover/review the topics of real and reactive power flow, maximum power transfer, steady state, dynamic and transient stability, local and inter-area oscillations, and the equal-area criterion. The session completes with a discussion on how stability can effect real-time operations and PJM’s stability tool, TSA. The structure of this session is instructor-led lecture on the aforementioned concepts with ample opportunities to ask and review student questions on the material and/or requested examples.
